Jewish anarchist activists resist Israeli settler terror against Palestinians

Shimri here. I refused to serve the Israeli occupation forces as a teen, and today I serve as Resistance Solidarity Network’s media coordinator. We have been reporting on the escalating Israeli settler-military terror in the West Bank in recent months. As I write this, the Palestinian town of Qusra is under total siege by Israeli settlers and military. That is in addition to the other towns and villages that have been attacked, Palestinians shot and killed, and people’s worlds destroyed across the West Bank.

There are pockets of resistance. We have reported on several emergent activist collectives. One of them is Black Rose Action. Last week, the collective targeted the endless Israeli flags that line the streets of the West Bank. Outside the Palestinian city of Rawabi, where dozens of Israeli flags were erected by occupation forces as part of their effort to claim ownership over the land, Black Rose Action targeted the flags with red paint and called attention to the genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people, and the appropriation of their lands. A statement released by the group reads:

"Israel is attempting to erase Palestine and its people through genocide and ethnic cleansing. No number of Israeli flags will cover the fact that this land is Palestine.

The Israeli colonial project has faced no sanctions and continues to receive support for the genocide it is committing in Gaza. It has subsequently expanded its campaign of extermination to the West Bank and Lebanon using the same genocidal blueprint they used in Gaza, displacing tens of thousands of people from refugee camps in the Northern West Bank and hundreds of thousands from Southern Lebanon and intentionally and systematically destroying civilian infrastructure so that the displaced have no where to return to. Settler terror gangs are rampaging through Palestinian communities in the West Bank, directly aided by the occupation forces. The colonial project used this tactic before, when they expelled the majority of the population from the areas they occupied in 1948 and systematically destroyed over five hundred Palestinian villages for this same purpose. When such criminal actions are tolerated and even supported, they expand.

We, Black Rose Action, call on people of conscience to take action and raise their voices for freedom in Palestine. We call on people of conscience to heed the Palestinian call to Boycott Divest and Sanction Israel until it complies with the three demands of the BDS Movement:

1. Ending its occupation and colonization of all Arab lands and dismantling the Wall
2. Recognizing the fundamental rights of the Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality; and
3. Respecting, protecting, and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN resolution 194.

We encourage activists across the world to participate in direct action campaign, striking where it hurts. The Empire is afraid. Make it more afraid."
